Evaluation

Coming back from the summer holiday our first project to create a short film in three days. We were put in groups and started to come up with ideas. We decided to doing something that young people will recognise and understand a bit of marketing goes along way. We came up with the idea of using snap chat as the main focus of the short story the idea was two friends sharing their snap chat profile. But one of them started speaking to a person through snap chat but is it who he really believe it is. This is was the basic concept of the story, which I thought was nice.

After, deciding the story line we began to give out the jobs roles and I was going to be the assistant because there quite a lot of people in our group. During our time filming as a group we decided to change a bit the storyline and I ended up being the camerawomen. Honestly, I didn’t put up a fight with this decision I do liking being in charge of the camera but the difference between this project and others was that I wasn’t following my vision I had to follow the directors plan. Even those I was filming every shot I took I had the director check it to see if it was up to his standers. this was the first project where I had to do this and it was quite a challenge because I wasn’t used to it but I learned a lot.

In this project we did spend lot of time with the composition because it’s for me one of the important parts of filming. Sometimes people forget about this and when checking their footage they regret not paying more attention. The editing process is the same to any other project but I always like to challenge myself, push myself a little bit. I believe this is a great sign of an editor, always striving to become better at their craft. and this is a quality I am proud to have.

This project I think was a great success you can really see the big improvement from previous projects. The quality and framing is clearly seen a huge improvement. It’s a short tim where I can say I’m proud to film and edit.
