Maya Introduction

Today, was the first lesson we had using Maya Software. This is the first time I have ever used and heard of  Maya. It was very interesting to see the software people used for fantastic movies like Gravity. Our teacher encouraged us to learn as much as we can as if we have this under our belt then we could get a job in the film industry much easier. Having this skill is of great benefit to us.

We didn’t really do much but we had an introduction of the basic tools and skills to Maya. We learned how to move objects and create different types of shapes. We learned the basic tools to know a bit more about this software. I found it very different to any type of software I’ve ever used before.

One thing I had to adjust to was the fact it has 4 screens and I get confused in which one to look at. I ain’t used to have to look at four windows. Another then that if was pretty simple well from what I learned. I decided to play around with the shape tool and see what I could make. Our teacher challenge us t see if we could make a body with the shapes tool. I found it so difficult because I would only look at one window and in the other windows it would look really bad.
